Founder's Story:
As a dentist, I have seen the trauma that can come from sports injuries to the mouth. As an athlete, I myself experienced trauma that resulted in a broken front tooth and the journey it takes to get an implant and a final crown restoration. During this period, I was fortunate enough to have financial and family support to allow me to regain my smile. My financial commitment would have been over $10,000! Now it’s my turn to help others through mouthguard education. It’s time to change the way we see the mouthguard!
How we do it:
We survive off public donations, sponsorships, and partnerships. By caring for communities and partnering with dentists we can achieve the impressions and high quality care for custom fit mouthguards.

Meet The Team
Kaitlyn Cummings - President
Kaitlyn has been a champion and supporter of Grill Guard since it was just an idea and a dream. She saw exactly what her husband and our founder, Dr. Brad Cummings went through recovering from his sports related dental injury. Kaitlyn is a nurse and mother of 2 athletes, she knows prevention and safety is the best approach for maintaining health and is excited to provide the best mouthguards to more athletes.
Mattie Jackson - Secretary
As a dental hygienist I have seen first hand the damage to teeth from playing sports. I actually was hit in the mouth playing softball and wore a mouth guard the rest of my career. After working with Dr. Cummings I was able to join him in this passion for dental health and preventing injuries. Being able to provide these athletes with something that can save a smile makes me smile.
Emily Cunningham - Treasurer
Emily Cunningham is passionate about serving others and believes some of the most meaningful work happens when people come together to support their community. Whether volunteering at local organizations or helping families through real estate, she is driven by building relationships and making a positive impact. Emily is a Realtor, co-founder of The Cunningham Team, and a proud wife and mother of three. She is honored to serve on the Grill Guard for Good Board and is committed to advancing its mission of giving back to the community.
Brad Cummings - Founder/Executive Director
I had my front tooth knocked out while playing basketball. I never wore a mouthguard because it seemed impossible to happen to me. After multiple years of treatment I realized I was lucky. I had family and financial support that got me though what would have cost over $10,000.
Now I am a dentist with the ability to give back to others.
